Rickshaw Rush — A Karachi Endless Runner Game

Your rickshaw is painted, the tassels are swinging, and there are samosas to collect. Rickshaw Rush is a three-lane endless runner inspired by a lively Karachi road. Steer around obstacles, hop over potholes and keep moving as the road speeds up. It is a playful, imaginary journey: you are chasing your own score, not following a real route or learning how to drive in traffic.

How to get moving

Choose Chalo!, then steer or hop to begin. The rickshaw moves forward automatically. You choose the lane and the timing of a hop. Look towards the top of the road for the next obstacle pattern; waiting until something is directly in front of the vehicle makes a safe route harder to follow.

Each row leaves a route through the traffic. Follow the open lane as it changes rather than trying to collect every pickup. The vehicle moves across the lane instead of teleporting, so make your decision with a little space to spare. One planned move is usually more useful than a late flurry of left and right inputs.

Swipe controls and keyboard controls

On a touchscreen, swipe left or right over the game to change lanes. Swipe upwards to hop. A keyboard offers Left and Right Arrow, or A and D, for steering; Space or Up Arrow makes the rickshaw hop. Holding a key does not queue an endless series of moves. Tap the pause control, or press Escape, when you need to stop.

The game pauses when you leave the tab and waits for a deliberate resume. Fullscreen is available where your browser supports it. If a device does not offer fullscreen, the normal page still scales the game to its available width. Keep swipes inside the frame; the rest of the page remains available for ordinary scrolling.

Potholes, traffic and tasty pickups

A pothole is a reason to hop. A donkey cart, buffalo or parked Suzuki is a reason to choose another lane. A rolling cricket ball adds another small hazard to watch. Do not assume every object can be jumped: larger obstacles occupy the lane and need a clear route around them.

Samosas add to your collection. A chai pickup gives a four-second shield, making the next stretch more forgiving while its timer lasts. A golden jalebi doubles samosa rewards for six seconds. The effects are temporary, so keep watching the road even when your vehicle looks protected. A pickup off the safe route is an invitation, not a requirement.

Scoring and a longer run

Your score combines the whole metres travelled with ten points for each credited samosa. During the jalebi effect, the extra samosa credit contributes to that same total. Distance and samosas are also shown separately so you can see whether a run came from steady driving, careful collecting, or a little of both.

The road gradually speeds up from its opening pace over roughly two minutes. An opening gap therefore feels different later in the same run. Read a pattern early, take the route that gives you room for the following row, and leave risky snacks behind. Naya Driver, Ustaad, Rickshaw Raja and Saddar Legend are the game’s progress ranks, not real driving qualifications.

A small piece of truck-art imagination

Bright panels, painted ornaments and hanging decorations give the rickshaw its personality. Pakistani vehicle decoration is the inspiration for this illustrated machine; our pink, teal and yellow scene is original game artwork. The roadside details are a playful collage, not a claim that any particular Karachi street looks exactly like this.

If your run ends with Rickshaw phans gaya!, take a breath and try another route. Your best is saved in this browser when local storage is available. Runner ranks advance at 250, 750 and 1,500 points. You can share the result and challenge a friend, or switch to a quieter Lafz puzzle for the rest of your chai break. The game is free and does not require an account.

Questions before your next round

Can I play Rickshaw Rush on a keyboard?

Yes. Use Left/Right Arrow or A/D to change lanes, and Space or Up Arrow to hop. Escape pauses.

What does the chai pickup do?

Chai activates a temporary four-second shield. Keep steering safely because the protection expires.

Can I jump every obstacle?

No. Hop potholes and steer around larger lane-blocking obstacles such as carts and parked vehicles.

Is the road a real Karachi route?

No. It is an original, Karachi-inspired arcade setting with imaginary traffic patterns.
