Name Place Animal Thing

Getting your score book ready…

How to keep score

Give each player paper and a pencil, then add two to eight names to this score sheet. The phone manages the letter, timer and totals while everyone writes their own answers. The four categories are Name, Place, Animal and Thing. Agree the language, acceptable places and how you will handle spelling variations before starting.

Choose an A–Z letter for the round. This version’s letter selector uses the Latin alphabet; players can agree English or Roman-script answers that fit it. The next round offers the next alphabet letter as a suggestion, but you can choose another before the timer begins. No random letter is imposed on your group.

Press Start timer when everyone is ready. Sixty seconds is the starting duration, adjustable from ten to six hundred seconds in the pre-game settings. The timer uses a saved finishing time, so locking the phone or reloading does not secretly add time. An expired round stays expired when you return.

When time ends, compare answers together. Give ten for a valid answer nobody else used, five for a valid answer shared with another player, and zero for a missing or rejected answer. Select each value in the player’s category row. These are clearly agreed house scores; the phone does not judge whether a word is valid.

The four category values add up automatically when you save the round. For example, ten for Name, five for Place, zero for Animal and ten for Thing gives twenty-five points. Letter choice and category draft values are saved locally as you change them. Keep the discussion friendly and use the same decision for equivalent spellings.

Rounds reopens a saved letter and its complete scoring table for corrections. Change the category cells rather than typing an unrelated total; the saved score follows the new table. Undo reverses the latest change. Sharing sends the standings you review, not everyone’s written answers, so players can keep their paper sheets to themselves.

Before you begin

Does the app check answers?

No. Players agree validity and duplicates together, then select 10, 5 or 0.

Will phone lock pause the timer?

No. The saved finishing time keeps the same deadline.

Can we restart a running timer?

Wait until it finishes before restarting. A restart is a new timer decision, not hidden extra time.

Can eight people score a round?

Yes. Each player gets a separate four-category row.
