Dumb charades

Getting your score book ready…

How to keep score

Split into two teams and enter a name for each side. Pick a session name so you can resume the same gathering later. This starter format uses one actor, one prompt and one timed turn. Correct guesses earn one point. It is a simple house format for a group, with no film knowledge required.

The actor opens Actor only: reveal prompt while everyone else looks away. The prompt cards describe original everyday actions, such as pouring hot chai or looking for a missing cricket ball. Choose Different prompt if the action does not suit the actor. Close the prompt panel before handing the phone back to the scorekeeper.

Press Start timer when the actor is ready. The starting duration is sixty seconds, with a setting from ten to six hundred seconds before the session begins. The deadline is saved as a clock time. Locking the phone, changing apps or reloading does not pause it or restore the seconds that have already passed.

The actor mimes without speaking the answer. When the team guesses correctly, mark Team guessed correctly and save the round for one point. If time runs out or the group passes, leave the box unchecked and save a zero-point turn. A pass still counts as a round, allowing the next team its turn.

The suggested team alternates after each saved round. Change it before recording if your group’s turn order requires that. The prompt library repeats after its small set is used; it does not claim to supply endless new material. Agree any gestures, accessibility adaptations or longer turns before a player begins acting.

Open Rounds to correct the team or whether a guess was correct. The score is rebuilt from those details, so the result cannot keep a correct-guess note with an unrelated number of points. Undo reverses the last entry or correction. Share prepares an emoji standings preview and a Story image, with no automatic message sent to anyone.

Before you begin

Are these movie titles?

No. The supplied prompts are original descriptions of everyday actions.

Does the timer award a point automatically?

No. The scorekeeper marks the correct guess and saves the result.

What does a pass score?

Zero for both teams, while still using one round.

Are prompts hidden when I switch apps?

The reveal panel closes when the page becomes hidden. Everyone should still look away during a reveal.
