Toss & Team Picker

How it works

Heads or tails? Who goes first? Put the little decisions on one phone, then get back to the game. Names stay in this browser.

Choose a coin toss, random teams, one or two dice, or a first-player pick. For teams and player selection, enter one nickname per line and check that nobody appears twice. An odd group produces teams that differ by one player; agree in advance how your game handles that spare player or rotating turn.

Make the choice before revealing the result: call heads or tails, decide what the winning team gets, or name the order in which a dice result will be used. Tap once and let the result stand. The picker uses the browser’s random-number source and does not need an account. It is for friendly games; it does not make promises about anyone’s skill or chances of winning.

Set the phone where everyone can see the score without blocking the game. Use nicknames so the next person knows whose turn it is. Before the first round, agree on the target, what counts as a point and which house rules apply. A scorekeeper records decisions made by your group; it cannot decide whether a catch, call or guess was fair.

Take a moment after each turn to read the new total aloud. If someone spots a mistake, correct it before starting the next turn. Keep one person in charge of the phone at a time so two taps do not record the same event twice. Pass the phone carefully and keep drinks away from it.

Your session is saved in this browser on this phone. Locking the screen or briefly switching apps does not end a saved match. Return using the same browser to continue. Private browsing, clearing website data or changing phones can remove the score sheet, so share a final copy if your group wants to keep it.

Open the page online once and wait for it to finish loading before heading somewhere without a signal. The visited helper can then reopen offline on the same browser. WhatsApp still needs a connection to send the message. A share button prepares text for you to check; nothing is posted to a group automatically.

Before you begin

Can it work without internet?

Yes, after this page has finished an online visit on the same browser.

Are teams balanced by skill?

No. The split is random. Add your own agreed adjustment if skill balance matters.

Can I roll two dice?

Choose the two-dice option to see each die and their total.

Are nicknames uploaded?

No. These helper names and results stay on this phone unless you choose to share them.

  1. Choose a coin, teams, dice or who goes first.
  2. Add nicknames when needed, then tap the big button.
  3. Keep the result or share it with your group.

Privacy, offline play and saved sessions

Names, chits and score sheets stay in this browser. Clear the tool session when your group is done. Visit the tool once online and let it finish loading to use it offline later. Your browser may clear saved data; an online reload restores the tool, but cannot recover an erased local score sheet.

The share button opens WhatsApp with a text preview. You decide who receives it.
