Gali Cricket — Street Cricket Game Online

One batter, a narrow street and a window everyone agrees to avoid. Gali Cricket turns the familiar arguments of a street match into a quick timing game. You choose when to swing; the timing decides the runs. It is a free cricket game online with three wickets per innings, six balls per over and one particularly watchful neighbour. Start a match whenever you have a few minutes for a chai break.

How to play an innings

Choose Khelo! and watch the delivery travel towards your batter. Tap once as the ball reaches the bat. A well-timed contact scores runs; a badly timed swing, or no swing at all, costs a wicket. You cannot change a shot by tapping repeatedly after it has been played. Wait for the next delivery and try again.

The scoreboard shows runs, wickets and the current over. An over contains six deliveries. The innings continues until you lose three wickets, so a cautious four can be more useful than an ambitious attempt at six. Later overs bring faster deliveries; learn the rhythm again as the pace changes instead of relying on one fixed delay.

What the timing meter means

Contact within 40 milliseconds of the ideal moment scores six. Within 90 milliseconds scores four. Within 150 milliseconds scores one or two runs. Anything outside that contact window is out. Early and late swings are judged by the same distances from the ideal moment; the centre of the meter is your six zone.

The timing assist starts on and fades after two overs unless you choose a setting yourself. Open Pause to turn it on or off at any point. The coloured bands show the shot windows, but the labels also identify the outcomes. Try a few innings with the assist, then follow the ball rather than staring only at the bar.

Khala alert: a four is your friend

Khala is an Urdu family term for a maternal aunt; in the game, she is also the neighbour whose window makes the rules memorable. A Khala alert changes one result: hitting a six into her window costs a wicket. A four is safe. The warning appears before the delivery, so notice the scene as well as the ball.

The first over has no Khala alerts, and alerts do not occur on consecutive balls. Later eligible deliveries have a chance of bringing her to the window. Treat the warning as a different batting problem. Move your tap a little away from perfect contact to find a four, rather than skipping the ball and losing a wicket.

Controls, practice and saved scores

Tap the game on touchscreens, or press Space, Up Arrow or Enter on a keyboard. Escape and the pause button stop play. Leaving the tab pauses the innings; returning does not resume it automatically. Sound is optional, and your mute choice carries across the site on the same browser.

Your best is the highest completed innings saved on this device. Ranks are Gali Rookie below 24 runs, Gali Batter from 24, Chakka Champion from 60, and Gali Legend from 120. The score card also records the details of the run you just played. Share sends a score and game link, not a verified tournament result. If you are learning, practise one reliable four before trying to turn every ball into a chakka, the familiar word for a six.

Street rules and the game’s story

A gali is a lane or street. Real gali cricket adapts to the space available: players may use a taped tennis ball, agree a one-tip-one-hand catch rule, or declare a neighbour’s window out of bounds. These are local agreements, not one universal set of laws. Our game borrows that spirit while keeping its own timing and wicket rules clear.

There is no field placement or running between wickets to manage here. It is a small batting challenge built for a browser, with a colourful street as its setting. Read our guide to gali cricket rules for the difference between a house rule and a rule everyone at your next match should agree before the first ball.

Questions before your next round

How many wickets do I get?

Each innings has three wickets. Six balls make an over, and play continues until the third wicket falls.

Why was my six given out?

On a Khala alert delivery, a six hits the window and is out. Aim for a four when the warning appears.

Can I leave the timing assist on?

Yes. Open Pause and select Timing assist. A manual choice takes priority over the automatic fade after two overs.

Is this a multiplayer cricket game?

No. This is a solo timing game. You can share your score and let a friend try to beat it on their own device.
